Going solar in Samford Valley

North Brisbane and Moreton Bay run from Albany Creek and Strathpine through North Lakes and Narangba to Caboolture and Bribie Island, taking in the Redcliffe Peninsula and acreage around Samford and Dayboro.

North Brisbane and Moreton Bay take in the Redcliffe Peninsula, the estates around North Lakes and Mango Hill, Caboolture and Bribie Island, and the acreage of Samford and Dayboro.

Samford Valley is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

  • Plenty of Samford Valley properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Samford Valley: history and local area

Until 1981 this was all just Samford. That year the old locality was divided in two, with Samford Village keeping the town and Samford Valley taking the surrounding land to the west, north and east. The valley has stayed largely rural since, and locals run their own volunteer support group, the Samford Support Network.

The South Pine River rises on Mount Nebo and flows east through Highvale into the valley. To the north the land climbs into the House Mountain Range, where ridges reach about 370 metres and remain mostly undeveloped. The valley floor drops to around 50 metres, and that is where most homes are, on large rural residential blocks. Kids go to Samford State School in the village or to Ferny Grove for high school.

Large rural residential blocks leave room for ground mounted arrays, but surrounding ridges can cut winter sun early in the afternoon, so placement needs a proper look at the horizon.
