Going solar in Samford Village

North Brisbane and Moreton Bay run from Albany Creek and Strathpine through North Lakes and Narangba to Caboolture and Bribie Island, taking in the Redcliffe Peninsula and acreage around Samford and Dayboro.

Samford Village is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

  • Plenty of Samford Village properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Samford Village: history and local area

The village became a locality in its own right in 1981, when the original Samford district was split and the surrounding rural land went to Samford Valley. That left the town centre as its own small patch. Community buildings like the Farmers Hall and the Country Women's Association hall on Main Street remain part of village life.

Covering just 1.4 square kilometres, Samford Village is mostly taken up by the town itself, with Samford Valley wrapping around it. About 820 people lived here at the last census. The big drawcard for families is Samford State School, which had around 850 students and 61 teachers in 2018. High schoolers travel south east to Ferny Grove.

Older homes in a long established town often have mature gardens and street trees, so it pays to map shading on the roof before choosing panel numbers and inverter type.
