Going solar in Alexandra Hills
The Redlands coast runs from Capalaba and Birkdale through Cleveland and Victoria Point to Redland Bay and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, with plenty of larger blocks around Mount Cotton and Sheldon.
Redlands homes face Moreton Bay, so salt air, sea breezes and the island communities all shape how we design and install systems from Capalaba to Redland Bay.
Alexandra Hills is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Alexandra Hills: history and local area
Schools tell the story of how fast this area filled up. Alexandra Hills State School opened in 1975, St Anthony's Catholic Primary in 1980, Vienna Woods in 1985, the state high school in 1987 and Hilliard State School in 1991. The Anglican Church of the Resurrection was dedicated in 1991, and the Sycamore School for students with autism arrived in 2017.
Wedged between Cleveland and Capalaba, it is the only Redland suburb with no coastline. Hilliards Creek runs near the western edge, with a platypus corridor along it, and the 152 ha Scribbly Gums Conservation Area sits on the eastern side next to Redland Hospital, hosting a weekly parkrun since 2022. Locals also have a TAFE campus and "The Alex" hotel.
Being an inland Redlands suburb, homes sit back from the salt spray of the bay, though streets bordering the Scribbly Gums bushland can get afternoon shade from tall trees, so roof orientation matters when sizing panels.
