Solar Panels Birkdale: local, honest, done right

Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Birkdale system around your roof, your shading and your bills.

A typical 6.6kW system in Birkdale makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Birkdale is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

The Redlands coast runs from Capalaba and Birkdale through Cleveland and Victoria Point to Redland Bay and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, with plenty of larger blocks around Mount Cotton and Sheldon. We look after Birkdale and the surrounding suburbs of Wellington Point, Thorneside and Ransome, so a free on-site measure in 4159 is easy to book.

About Birkdale

Settler and vigneron James Baron called his home on Roger Street Birkdale House, and the suburb took its name. Land around today's Bath and Cavell Streets went on sale in 1889, the same year the railway station opened. The state school opened in November 1916, poultry farming took hold in the 1920s, and small crop farms later gave way to housing estates.

Tingalpa Creek forms the boundary with Brisbane on the west, while Waterloo Bay and Thorneside sit to the north. The canal homes of Aquatic Paradise are well known, along with Birkdale Bushland Refuge, Tarradarrapin Wetlands, Howeston Golf Course and the heritage US Army Radio Receiving Station. A whitewater centre for 2032 Olympic canoeing is planned for the community precinct.

How much does solar cost in Birkdale?

Most Birkdale homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Birkdale?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Birkdale?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Birkdale 4159 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Birkdale is part of our Redlands service area in the Redland City Council area, and we regularly work in Wellington Point, Thorneside, Ransome, Alexandra Hills. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
