Solar Panels Wellington Point: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Wellington Point system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Wellington Point makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Wellington Point is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
The Redlands coast runs from Capalaba and Birkdale through Cleveland and Victoria Point to Redland Bay and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, with plenty of larger blocks around Mount Cotton and Sheldon. We look after Wellington Point and the surrounding suburbs of Birkdale, Ormiston and Thorneside, so a free on-site measure in 4160 is easy to book.
- Being close to the water, Wellington Point gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

About Wellington Point
In 1842 surveyors Robert Dixon and James Warner named the headland after the Duke of Wellington, victor at Waterloo, which explains the neighbouring Waterloo Bay. Land sold from 1864, and Gilbert Burnett was growing sugarcane by about 1869. The railway came in 1889, retirees and commuters were arriving by 1911, and piped water in 1969 opened farmland up for housing.
Moreton Bay wraps the north and northwest, with Hilliards Creek on the east. At low tide people walk across a sandbar to tiny King Island, and the 1937 jetty and boat ramps stay busy. Whepstead Manor, the clock tower shopping strip, Redlands Sporting Club, Wellington Point Reserve and the Sovereign Waters lakeside estate round out the area.

Solar panels in Wellington Point: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Wellington Point?
Most Wellington Point homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Wellington Point?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Wellington Point?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.
Do you service Wellington Point 4160 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Wellington Point is part of our Redlands service area in the Redland City Council area, and we regularly work in Birkdale, Ormiston, Thorneside, Alexandra Hills. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
