Solar panels in Lutwyche, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Lutwyche homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Lutwyche quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Lutwyche makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Lutwyche is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. Our solar panels work in Lutwyche also covers neighbouring Wooloowin, Gordon Park and Windsor, all within about 1km.
- Many Lutwyche homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Lutwyche: a local snapshot
Judge Alfred Lutwyche, sent to Moreton Bay in 1859, bought land here in 1864 for St Andrew's Church of England, finished two years later. The suburb carries his name. An acre was set aside for a School of Arts in 1886, and the Lutwyche Domain estate was mapped in 1889. Trams rattled along Lutwyche Road until 1968, and the busway station opened in June 2012.
Under a square kilometre in size, Lutwyche is built around Lutwyche Road, part of Metroad 3, roughly 5.8 kilometres north of the CBD. Kedron Brook, with its parkland and bikeway, forms the north-western edge. Centro Lutwyche and HomeCo cover the shopping, along with small shops and eateries on the main road. St Andrew's and the old cemetery give the area a sense of its age.

Solar panels in Lutwyche: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Lutwyche?
Most Lutwyche homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Lutwyche?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Lutwyche?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Lutwyche 4030 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Lutwyche is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Wooloowin, Gordon Park, Windsor, Albion. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
