Solar panels for Wooloowin, planned around your home

Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Wooloowin homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Wooloowin makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Wooloowin is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. From Wooloowin to nearby Lutwyche and Albion, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

  • Many Wooloowin homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Getting to know Wooloowin

Holy Cross Primary was teaching children here by 1889. When the Methodist church was being built, a cyclone flattened it, so it was rebuilt and opened in 1902. The state school followed in September 1914. The name may come from an Indigenous word for a pigeon or a type of fish. In October 2015 the northern part split away to become Kalinga.

Heritage homes are the standout, from Victorian and Federation houses to interwar cottages and flats, all about six kilometres north-north-east of the city. Shaw Park hosts Norths Rugby and the Northern Suburbs District Cricket Club. Trains stop at both Wooloowin and Eagle Junction stations, and the State Emergency Service has its headquarters here.

How much does solar cost in Wooloowin?

Most Wooloowin homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Wooloowin?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Wooloowin?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Wooloowin 4030 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Wooloowin is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Lutwyche, Albion, Windsor, Kalinga. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
