Going solar in Lutwyche
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Lutwyche is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Many Lutwyche homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Lutwyche: history and local area
Judge Alfred Lutwyche, sent to Moreton Bay in 1859, bought land here in 1864 for St Andrew's Church of England, finished two years later. The suburb carries his name. An acre was set aside for a School of Arts in 1886, and the Lutwyche Domain estate was mapped in 1889. Trams rattled along Lutwyche Road until 1968, and the busway station opened in June 2012.
Under a square kilometre in size, Lutwyche is built around Lutwyche Road, part of Metroad 3, roughly 5.8 kilometres north of the CBD. Kedron Brook, with its parkland and bikeway, forms the north-western edge. Centro Lutwyche and HomeCo cover the shopping, along with small shops and eateries on the main road. St Andrew's and the old cemetery give the area a sense of its age.
In a compact suburb with smaller blocks close to a busy main road, rooftop space is precious, so higher-efficiency panels can help get the most generation from a modest roof.
