Solar Panels Newmarket: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Newmarket system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Newmarket makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Newmarket is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning. We look after Newmarket and the surrounding suburbs of Wilston, Alderley and Grange, so a free on-site measure in 4051 is easy to book.
- Many Newmarket homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

About Newmarket
Known first as The Three Mile Scrub, the area took a new name when Brisbane's saleyards moved in around 1880 and became the new market. Trains came in 1899 and trams in 1903, a year before the state school opened. The saleyards left for Cannon Hill in 1931, and houses were planned on the old site two years later.
Enoggera Creek runs along the southern edge, with a linear park and bikeway beside it. About 5,080 people live in this 1.7 square kilometre suburb, 5.1 km by road from the CBD. Pre-war and post-war Queenslanders sit beside newer townhouses and units. Newmarket Shopping Centre added cinemas in 2018, the hotel dates from 1897, and Sedgeley Park has a public pool.

Solar panels in Newmarket: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Newmarket?
Most Newmarket homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Newmarket?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Newmarket?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Newmarket 4051 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Newmarket is part of our Brisbane Westside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Wilston, Alderley, Grange, Herston. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
