Solar panels in Red Hill, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Red Hill homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Red Hill quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Red Hill makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Red Hill is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter. Our solar panels work in Red Hill also covers neighbouring Kelvin Grove, Paddington and Petrie Terrace, all within about 1km.
- Many Red Hill homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

Red Hill: a local snapshot
Steep slopes of red soil and rock gave Red Hill its plain spoken name. Allotments were auctioned from around 1880, making it among Brisbane's older suburbs. St Brigid's school opened in 1881, Windsor Road Baptist Church in 1888, and the hilltop church followed in 1914. The area belonged to Ithaca, first as a shire from 1887 and then a town from 1903, until Brisbane absorbed it in 1925.
Very hilly and mainly residential, Red Hill is about 3.2 km north west of the city. St Brigid's Church stands out on the skyline. Shops and small businesses cluster along Musgrave and Waterworks roads, and the old skate arena reopened as a five screen cinema in 2019. Gilbert Park hosts the Broncos training ground. Heritage Queenslanders line many streets, with buses replacing the trams in 1968.

Solar panels in Red Hill: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Red Hill?
Most Red Hill homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Red Hill?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Red Hill?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Red Hill 4059 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Red Hill is part of our Inner Brisbane service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Kelvin Grove, Paddington, Petrie Terrace, Milton. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
