Going solar in Birkdale
The Redlands coast runs from Capalaba and Birkdale through Cleveland and Victoria Point to Redland Bay and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, with plenty of larger blocks around Mount Cotton and Sheldon.
Redlands homes face Moreton Bay, so salt air, sea breezes and the island communities all shape how we design and install systems from Capalaba to Redland Bay.
Birkdale is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Birkdale: history and local area
Settler and vigneron James Baron called his home on Roger Street Birkdale House, and the suburb took its name. Land around today's Bath and Cavell Streets went on sale in 1889, the same year the railway station opened. The state school opened in November 1916, poultry farming took hold in the 1920s, and small crop farms later gave way to housing estates.
Tingalpa Creek forms the boundary with Brisbane on the west, while Waterloo Bay and Thorneside sit to the north. The canal homes of Aquatic Paradise are well known, along with Birkdale Bushland Refuge, Tarradarrapin Wetlands, Howeston Golf Course and the heritage US Army Radio Receiving Station. A whitewater centre for 2032 Olympic canoeing is planned for the community precinct.
Canal-front homes in estates like Aquatic Paradise are exposed to salty air off Waterloo Bay, so panel frames, rails and fixings rated for coastal conditions are a sensible choice.
