Going solar in Capalaba
The Redlands coast runs from Capalaba and Birkdale through Cleveland and Victoria Point to Redland Bay and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, with plenty of larger blocks around Mount Cotton and Sheldon.
Redlands homes face Moreton Bay, so salt air, sea breezes and the island communities all shape how we design and install systems from Capalaba to Redland Bay.
Capalaba is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Capalaba: history and local area
Farmers, timber cutters and sawmillers moved in during the 1850s, crossing Tingalpa Creek at a ford surveyor James Warner noted in 1850, later known as The Rocks Crossing. The town was surveyed as Tingalpa in 1863 and renamed Capalaba in 1927, believed to come from a Yugarabul word for the ringtail possum. The Leslie Harrison Dam, finished in 1968, set off rapid growth in the 1970s.
Tingalpa Creek forms the western border with Brisbane, and its dam holds back the Tingalpa Reservoir. Capalaba Park Shopping Centre opened in 1981 on the site of Queensland's first drive-in, and Capalaba Central adds a cinema. There is a busy bus station, around 20 parks, the IndigiScapes environmental centre and a Tallowwood tree thought to be over 400 years old.
Housing here mixes with bushland and big gum trees, so shading from tall eucalypts is worth checking on each roof face before deciding panel placement or whether microinverters or optimisers are worth it.
