Going solar in Willawong
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Willawong is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Willawong: history and local area
The Queensland Place Names Board created and named Willawong in 1970, using an Aboriginal word for the junction of two creeks. Four years later most of the suburb went under in the 1974 Brisbane flood. Residents fought sand mining proposals in 1983, and a toxic waste dump that once operated here was shut in 1998.
Oxley Creek and Blunder Creek trace most of the boundary, and the Sydney to Brisbane rail corridor runs down the east side. Only around 145 people live here. Land is taken up by a council resource recovery centre and the city's largest bus depot, holding over 200 buses on Sherbrooke Road, plus part of the 150 hectare Archerfield Wetlands. The CBD is about 17 km north by road.
With so much low lying land between two creeks and a history of flooding in 1974, any home or business adding solar here should plan for elevated inverter and battery placement.
