Going solar in Ellen Grove
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Ellen Grove is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Ellen Grove: history and local area
Around 1959 the land was cut into 2 to 4 acre blocks and sold with no services connected. The local progress association lobbied for a name, gazetted in 1962, recalling Ellen Dabing, daughter of landowner R.P. Spinks, who played in a grove of trees by Bullockhead Creek. Part of Carole Park was later absorbed, and boundary changes in 2009 stretched the suburb north and south, lifting the population sharply.
The Centenary Highway runs north to south through Ellen Grove and the Logan Motorway skirts part of the southern edge. The Springfield rail line passes through, with land set aside for a future station. A small shopping centre on Waterford Road holds the post office, and the Carole Park treatment plant sits in the north west. Schools are in Wacol and Forest Lake nearby.
Some of the original 2 to 4 acre blocks remain alongside newer homes, so households here range from compact rooftop systems to larger arrays on sheds or ground frames with space to spare.
