Going solar in Forest Lake
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Forest Lake is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Forest Lake: history and local area
Henry Farley built a homestead here in the late 1870s, and in 1881 Michael Durack bought it as part of Archerfield Station. Fire destroyed the house in the 1930s, and during World War II the area held a command post for the Darra ammunition depot. Delfin began building Brisbane's first master planned community here in 1990, launched by Premier Wayne Goss in 1991, with Lendlease taking over in 2001.
At the centre is a man made lake of about 10.9 hectares, opened in 1994 and ringed by 2.7 km of shoreline, walking and cycle paths and 8 hectares of parkland. Homestead Park marks the original homestead site. Forest Lake Shopping Centre covers daily needs, and schools include two state primaries, a state high school and St John's Anglican College. The Springfield rail viaduct crosses local bushland.
As a master planned estate from the 1990s onward, Forest Lake has wide streets and fairly uniform modern roofs with little shading, ideal for straightforward panel layouts and batteries to cover evening air conditioning.
