Everton Hills: history and local area
The name comes second-hand. Everton Park next door took its name from pioneer Ambrose McDowall's home, which honoured Everton in Liverpool. In the 1890s the settlement of Bunyaville, called Kedron until 1891, grew up north of South Pine Road, and a Baptist church opened on Timms Road in 1932. Prince of Peace Lutheran College arrived in 1984, and in 2008 the area moved from Pine Rivers Shire into the Moreton Bay Region.
Kedron Brook marks the southern boundary, Boundary Park separates it from Everton Park, and the Bunyaville Forest Reserve sits along the edge. Daily needs are covered by two small convenience centres on Camelia Avenue and Queens Road, with Brookside in Mitchelton the main shopping trip. The Hills District PCYC is here, and the Lutheran college runs its secondary campus on Henderson Road.
With forest reserve on the doorstep, tree shading on some roofs is a real factor, so panel placement and microinverters or optimisers deserve a look where part of the roof sits in shadow.
