Going solar in Keperra
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Keperra is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Keperra: history and local area
Two bora rings once stood here, and the name may come from a Yuggera word for young man, tied to initiation ceremonies. John and Mary Nicholson built Groveley Lodge after buying land in 1865. Rail arrived in 1918 with the Grovely Station Estate, the golf club started in 1931, and the Housing Commission took over former army land in 1951. A drive-in operated from 1966 to 1998.
The Ferny Grove line stops at both Keperra and Grovely stations. Around 7,000 people live across 5.6 square kilometres, 12.4 km by road from the CBD. Keperra Bushland lines the southern border, and the Keperra Country Club has a 27 hole course. Great Western Super Centre was refurbished in 2022, and an old quarry on Settlement Road is being turned into housing.
Former Housing Commission homes often have simple roofs that take panels easily, while new houses on the old quarry site can be wired for a battery from day one. Homes near the bushland may see some tree shade.
