Going solar in Kings Forest
The Tweed runs from the border at Tweed Heads down the coast to Pottsville and inland along the river to Murwillumbah and Uki, a mix of beach houses, river-flat towns and hinterland acreage.
From the river towns around Murwillumbah to the beach suburbs of Kingscliff, Cabarita and Pottsville, the Tweed sits on the NSW side of the border, so it runs on Essential Energy's network and NSW energy rules.
Kings Forest is on Essential Energy's network, so your system is designed to Essential Energy's connection rules (typically a 5kW export limit) and NSW feed-in tariffs. We handle the network application for you.
- Newer homes in Kings Forest usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

Kings Forest: history and local area
Kings Forest has long been a very small settlement on Bundjalung country, home to just 35 people in 2016. Its future looks very different: Stockland acquired the site in August 2025, and it is planned to become a master-planned community within Tweed Shire in the Northern Rivers region.
Only about 40 residents lived here at the 2021 census, on low land around 4 metres above sea level. It lies roughly 29 km south of Tweed Heads and 127 km from Brisbane, in the 2487 postcode. Politically it sits in the Tweed state electorate and the federal Division of Richmond, under Tweed Shire Council.
New master-planned estates are the ideal time to get solar right, with roofs designed for good orientation, room in the switchboard for a battery and wiring ready for an EV charger from day one.
