Going solar in Tanglewood
The Tweed runs from the border at Tweed Heads down the coast to Pottsville and inland along the river to Murwillumbah and Uki, a mix of beach houses, river-flat towns and hinterland acreage.
From the river towns around Murwillumbah to the beach suburbs of Kingscliff, Cabarita and Pottsville, the Tweed sits on the NSW side of the border, so it runs on Essential Energy's network and NSW energy rules.
Tanglewood is on Essential Energy's network, so your system is designed to Essential Energy's connection rules (typically a 5kW export limit) and NSW feed-in tariffs. We handle the network application for you.

Tanglewood: history and local area
Tanglewood lies within the traditional lands of the Ngandowal and Minyungbal-speaking Bundjalung people of the Tweed region. Beyond that, the record is sparse, and no detailed account of its settlement or naming has been published. It is a small locality of Tweed Shire, with only 97 residents at the 2016 census, and uses the 2488 postcode.
The locality sits low, around 6 metres above sea level, about 24 km south of Tweed Heads and 123 km from Brisbane. It falls in the Tweed state electorate and the federal Division of Richmond, under Tweed Shire Council in north-eastern New South Wales, a short way inland from the Tweed Coast villages.
Low-lying land near the coast means planning battery and inverter positions above ground level and away from any spots where water pools in heavy rain.
