Going solar in Carbrook

Logan blends established suburbs such as Springwood, Shailer Park and Browns Plains with new communities at Yarrabilba, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve, plus acreage through Jimboomba, Greenbank and Munruben.

Logan mixes established family suburbs, fast-growing estates like Yarrabilba and Park Ridge, and acreage around Jimboomba and Greenbank. Big households and big air conditioning loads make solar and batteries pay back quickly here.

Carbrook is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

  • Plenty of Carbrook properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Carbrook: history and local area

German settlers came in 1867 and named the place Gramzow, after a village in the Uckermark region of northern Germany. The Alberton Ferry started crossing the Logan in 1870 and kept going until 1948. Gramzow State School opened in 1877. In 1916, with German names out of favour during World War I, the district became Carbrook. Calvary Christian College arrived in 1978 and Kimberley College in 2000.

Carbrook sits where the Albert River flows into the Logan, near the golf club, with an oxbow lake at the south end of the course. Native Dog Creek and California Creek wind through, and Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road runs west to east. Bayside Wake Park offers cable skiing, there are two council boat ramps and a caravan park, and Great Southern Memorial Park is the local cemetery and crematorium.

Riverside properties around the Logan and Albert junction should plan where batteries and inverters go with flooding in mind, while larger rural lots here often have space for extra panels on sheds.
