Going solar in Willow Vale
The northern Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing parts of Queensland, from the canals of Runaway Bay and Hope Island to new estates in Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau and semi-rural blocks around Wongawallan.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Willow Vale is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Newer homes in Willow Vale usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

Willow Vale: history and local area
Before it was officially named, Willow Vale was loosely known as part of Pimpama. Laurel Hill Farmhouse on Ruffles Road is heritage-listed and recalls the area's farming roots. The locality has grown modestly in recent years, from 2,096 residents at the 2016 census to 2,279 in 2021, and it remains rural in character.
Willow Vale is a rural locality of 21.5 km² north of Upper Coomera, with about 20 parks and reserves including Crystal Creek Reserve, The Grange Environmental Park, Peanba Park and The Dell Park. Hotham Creek Road runs through the district. There are no schools within the boundary, so families use schools in Pimpama and Upper Coomera.
Rural properties in Willow Vale typically have more space than suburban blocks, so there is room to consider shed roofs or a ground mount, and a battery is useful for keeping water pumps and essentials running during outages.
