Going solar in Pimpama
The northern Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing parts of Queensland, from the canals of Runaway Bay and Hope Island to new estates in Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau and semi-rural blocks around Wongawallan.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Pimpama is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Newer homes in Pimpama usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

Pimpama: history and local area
Jesse Daniells built a sawmill here in 1863, one of the earliest in the region. Township lots sold in February 1870, Cobb and Co coaches stopped here from about 1868, and arrowroot became a major crop in the 1870s and 1880s. The name is thought to come from Bundjalung words in the Yugumbir dialect meaning place of soldier birds. A wastewater plant finished in 2008 set off a wave of subdivisions.
Pimpama runs along the Pacific Motorway with the Pimpama River on its northern edge and Hotham Creek winding through. It is one of the fastest growing suburbs in the country, yet large areas are still undeveloped. Pimpama City Shopping Centre opened in 2018, the new railway station opened in October 2025, and the Strawberry Farm and Gainsborough Greens golf course are local landmarks.
Lots of Pimpama homes are recently built in new subdivisions with open, unshaded roofs, which gives a clean start for solar, and many new owners can plan a battery from day one rather than adding it later.
