Going solar in Pacific Pines
The northern Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing parts of Queensland, from the canals of Runaway Bay and Hope Island to new estates in Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau and semi-rural blocks around Wongawallan.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Pacific Pines is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Newer homes in Pacific Pines usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

Pacific Pines: history and local area
Pacific Pines is a planned suburb from the ground up. In 1990 Stockland bought about 800 hectares and drew up a layout for 5,800 house lots, with the name put forward by the developer. It was first gazetted as part of Gaven on 9 September 1994 and became its own suburb on 7 February 2003. Schools arrived steadily, starting with the state high school in 2000.
Family life shapes this 9.2 km² suburb between the Pacific Motorway and the edge of Nerang State Forest. Four schools sit within it: Pacific Pines State High, Jubilee Catholic primary, Pacific Pines State School and Park Lake State School. There is a community hall, cricket fields and courts for netball, AFL and tennis, and the Pacific Pines Panthers basketball club started in 2013.
Pacific Pines was laid out as a planned estate from 1990, so many homes are similar in age and design, which often means clear, regular roof areas that suit a well-sized array with a battery for busy family evenings.
