Going solar in Mount Nathan
The central Gold Coast takes in the high-rise strip from Broadbeach to Main Beach, the canal homes of Bundall, Benowa and Isle of Capri, and family suburbs like Ashmore, Nerang and Carrara.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Mount Nathan is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Plenty of Mount Nathan properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Mount Nathan: history and local area
Records for Mount Nathan are thin, but one clear milestone came in 1997 when Silkwood Steiner School opened. The school has since grown into a Prep to Year 12 campus with 575 students counted in 2017. By the 2021 census, 1,375 people lived across the locality, which lies about 11.7 km north-west of Nerang in the hinterland.
Two state routes shape the area. Beaudesert Nerang Road, also signed as Mount Nathan Road, follows the eastern edge before cutting across towards the Scenic Rim, and the Nerang Murwillumbah Road runs along part of the south-east boundary. There are no government schools, so Silkwood is the main local institution, and Southport is roughly 20 km to the east.
Hinterland homes on larger blocks around Mount Nathan often have the space to orient panels well, and with properties spread along main roads, battery backup for outages is a common consideration.
